MY FIRST TWO WEEKS AT THE FITNESS CLINIC

Upon accepting Sam’s offer to join his team and become a part of the Fitness Clinic community, I had a flurry of mixed emotions. Firstly, I felt a wave of excitement, knowing that a phenomenal opportunity had been laid out in front of me to continue perfecting my craft as a personal trainer. Secondly, as with most big decisions, I felt a sliver of anxiety that coincided with my excitement. Sam did an amazing job of keeping the entire interview process relaxed and easy-going, while maintaining the same high level of professionalism that is standard at the Fitness Clinic. The third emotion I felt was gratitude that I had found a place of like-minded professionals, who love helping others through fitness as much as I do. Lastly, I felt proud to have been accepted onto a team of such outstanding personal trainers.

The first realization I had about the Fitness Clinic when I started was how welcoming and friendly the environment was. Within the first few hours, the anxiety I felt about coming into a new facility and working with new people had completely disappeared. It had been replaced with confidence that I had made the right decision, and that the Fitness Clinic is where I needed to be. If I had to describe the general ambience of the clinic with one word, I would describe it as “warm.” The pleasant demeanor of the trainers, the general upbeat and friendly attitude of the clients, and the overall cozy feeling of the Fitness Clinic make for a one-of-a-kind experience. I have trained clients in several different commercial spaces over the years, but the feel of the Fitness Clinic is extremely unique and welcoming. There is a strong sense of comradery between everybody, and you can tell that it is truly a close-knit community.

The private environment of the Fitness Clinic allows for a level of service that I feel is unmatched. I do not want to make this article sound like I am just bragging on the Fitness Clinic, but the level of service provided just simply cannot be replicated anywhere else. Partially due to the people, partially due to the facility, and partially due to the culture that has been built there. Another unique aspect that I quickly picked up on was that many clients were 10, 15 or even 20-year clients. It was amazing to see how many of the clients were friends or family members of other clients. Never have I seen not only multi-generational trainers in the same facility, like Art and Jameson, but also multi-generational clients who bring their whole family in for personal training. To me, that is a testament to the quality of service provided at the Fitness Clinic.

As I began having discussions with other trainers at the facility, I realized two main things. One, everybody is there for the common good of the client, and to help them achieve their goals while enjoying the process. There is phenomenal rapport between trainer and client, as well as between everybody else in the facility. Each client gets an individualized service, catered to them, their body, and their goals. Two, there is an unspoken level of professionalism that is upheld naturally by a desire to give our clients the best experience possible. I am continually impressed by the professionalism I see at the clinic, and I have no doubt that clients can relate to what I mean.

The transition to training at the clinic felt natural as I began working with clients, and it did not take long to get comfortable with the layout of the place. The trainers made me feel right at home and have been very helpful. It is strange typing this up, thinking about the fact that I’ve only been a part of the team for just over two weeks. To me, it feels like a lot longer than that. The genuinely kind nature of the people at the Fitness Clinic has a way of doing that.

To wrap this article up, I want to express my gratitude to the Fitness Clinic team, as well as all our clientele for welcoming me with open arms and making me feel accepted into the facility. I mean it sincerely when I say that it has been an overwhelmingly positive experience thus far, and I am excited to keep growing as a personal trainer alongside you all. For those of you reading this who may not be a part of our community right now, I gently urge you to come in and see what we’re about. I promise that you will be pleasantly surprised.

Yours in health and fitness,

Luke
