My First Few Weeks at the Fitness Clinic
Hi everyone! My first month at the clinic has been wonderful, but it didn’t come without nerves and anticipation. My first week was stalled by the snow that decided to show up and make a winter wonderland. I was antsy to get in person and meet the rest of the team. Once I did, I felt at ease. Everyone has been so kind and caring towards me, clients and staff.
During my second week was the annual Trainer Appreciation Dinner. It was overwhelming still not knowing everyone in the room, but I quickly learned the clinic is one big family. I loved getting to hear the “newer” trainers talk about the “older” trainers and the admiration for making the clinic what it is today. After leaving the dinner, I felt even more honored to be hired next to such a great group of individuals. I could tell that this is the place to be. To grow and to thrive as a personal trainer.
I’ve had many jobs throughout my life, and I can confidently say that I’ve never been at a more welcoming place. I also feel comfortable to ask questions and give opinions on things as well. That is not something that has typically happened to me in previous positions.
Some of you have been asking about my client load. She is slowly but surely growing. Something that has been really fun is getting to bring friends in and train them for practice. Some have turned into clients and some I’m still working to convince. All of them know how long I’ve been waiting for this opportunity, so they were more than willing to support me.
You may also wonder what I’m working on when I’m not training or shadowing. Its initials are also SM… social media! That’s right, I’m bringing my Gen Zness to FC. So don’t be shy when I snap a quick photo or video. I might even want to interview you. My skills are building as I go, so be patient with me. In the meantime you can follow us on Instagram @fitnessclinicindy. You can also find us on Facebook and LinkedIn. That is my main plug for the day.
In conclusion, the more comfortable I become the more of a D1 yapper you will realize that I am. Topics can include IU Football, my dog, books, Friends (the TV show), Disney, gymnastics, cheer, and always IUDM. Here’s to month 2 and many more.
Love,
Sophie
